Thursday Challenge: small animals

Of course, when I think of small animals, I now automatically think of insects… And boy did I take pictures of insects lately; this is completely getting out of hand! So with a challenge like this I can not just pick one photo, I want to throw in a whole bunch of them. Hope you don’t mind… The one above gave me the giggles by the way, seeing him do his thing (sting) to somebody else. But when his family and friends came to ‘do me’ it wasn’t so funny anymore. Flourishing times for these fellows…

Some other insects I show you here aren’t the most loveable either, but still, most of them have sómething beautiful, of maybe something admirable (like getting to the point quickly zzzoem STING, or being so laborious…, says the lazy bum) or they are just funny looking. Here above, by the way, is a family of plant-louse (bladluis). Aren’t they cute?!

Ever thought of a pissebed (wood-louse?) as being beautiful before?!

This little fellow below is the baby brother of Rupsje Nooitgenoeg, a miniscule caterpillar with a never ending appetite… In Dutch it’s called a ‘spanrups’ which refers to the way it moves.
